You’ve Been Cleaning Your Oven The Wrong Way Your Entire Life. This Is Brilliant!
Of all the household chores that rank as the ugliest, most undesirable tasks to perform, certainly cleaning the oven is one of them. And like most individuals, you’ve probably been on your knees for hours, head in the oven, and applying enough elbow grease to clean a battleship in an attempt to get that monster cleaned. Well, the good news is there’s an easier way! It’s simple and economical, and it involves no harsh, toxic chemicals. All you need is:
- Small bowl
- Rag
- Water
- Spray bottle
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
The process won’t take long, but you also might want to get a small rug or fluffy towel to kneel on for the clean up.
Step one: Remove all of the racks from the oven
Step two: In the bowl, put two tablespoons of baking soda and enough water to make a paste. It should be easily spreadable.
Step three: With the rag, or even your bare hand, apply the mixture to the areas that needs to be cleaned. Shortly, the mixture will turn brown. Leave it to set overnight for a minimum of 12 hours.
Step four: The next day, using a wet rag, wipe up as much of the baking soda as possible.
Step five: Fill the spray bottle with vinegar and spray over the areas that had baking soda.
Step six: After rinsing off the wet rag, use it to wipe down the surfaces.
Step seven: Replace the racks and turn the oven on low for a minimum of 15 minutes to dry out.
Step eight: Repeat steps one through six for the window, allowing only 1/2 hour instead of 12 hours for the baking soda and vinegar to do their magic.
This method is easy, safe and effective. Your lungs and your knees will thank you.
