Kitchen Hacks: How to Peel a Boiled Egg in Seconds
Eggs can be a pain. You spend what feels like hours trying to pick the little bits of shell off, or if you hurry you end up taking most of the egg white off with the shell. There have been loads of suggestions put out there: only use old eggs, boil the eggs in water with some baking soda, soak the boiled eggs in ice water, crack the egg then soak it in cold water, and the list goes on. Not that there’s anything wrong with these tips–soaking in cold water is probably a good idea, and you shouldn’t use eggs the chicken just laid for boiling–but it’s still going to come down to peeling the egg. Enter this life hack: all you need is a glass of water and your boiled eggs can be peeled in seconds.
