Pizza, that wonderful gift of Italian cuisine to the world, with no flour!

Pizza with carrot dough, with no flour!

Pizza, that wonderful gift of Italian cuisine to the world, is also a food somewhat raised in carbohydrates and fats so many times for more that weighs us, we must avoid it.

Here I bring you the solution to be able to masses without wheat flour and get a pizza low in calories and suitable for celiacs.

Unfortunately increasingly there are people with allergies or wheat intolerances given their abuse in our diet and the number of pesticides with which they bathe as we saw in other opportunities, to make a healthy pizza, fortunately, there are options.

For all the people who are looking to leave refined white flours, a meeting with friends or family can be a challenge.

In general, many of the accompaniments and preparations that are eaten in groups carry flours as an ingredient. One of them is pizza, a classic of the meetings that can turn into a temptation.

But there are some alternatives you can learn to do to not let you either enjoy the traditional pizza flavor: you can make the dough with cauliflower, avocado or avocado, or, as you can learn here, with carrots!

In addition to avoiding flours, you will be adding minerals, water, and carotenoids to your diet. The latter are nutrients with high antioxidant power that protect the body’s cells from the damage caused by free radicals and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and some types of cancer. Also, carrots help maintain visual health and have a low lipid content.

Ingredients

500 gr of grated carrot

150 gr of chickpea flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon Provencal

1 pinch of pepper

Cheese and the vegetables you want to add on top

Note: these ingredients will serve to prepare two medium pizzas

In a bowl mix grated carrots with spices and chickpea flour. Knead with your hands to incorporate everything well.

In a baking tray with a little oil or paper butter, form two discs of dough, pressing it with your hands. Take care that it does not get too thick so it cooks well.

Bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Note: you will be even richer if you cook them in your own pizza oven.

Prepare your accompaniments. You can add sautéed mushrooms with garlic, eggs, tomato sauce, olives, or whatever else you like. Do not forget to grill a little cheese in the oven so you do not lose the unmistakable taste of pizza.

Other options:

Almond flour dough:

Almond flour is low in calories and ideal for those recipes in which we want to replace wheat flour with gluten-free flour, including pizza dough. We put in a bowl an egg, parmesan cheese, and spices little salt because the parmesan is salty, we form the dough and we bake it is a dough with a slightly nutty flavor but very rich and full very well thanks to the almond oils.

Dough with mashed potatoes:

Who does not like a rich mashed potatoes and made richer pizza, mix the puree with a quarter cup of flour (any type of flour will do, wheat, almonds, oats, coconut, etc), we need a little and stretch on a baking paper, then bring to a preheated oven and bake until crispy, this recipe serves to replace the wheat flour and is very rich, but I do not cut the carbohydrates.
