Most people want shiny white teeth – they look good and look healthy. But as impressive as a set of shiny teeth is, having an adequate oral health. Something that is important for several reasons.

The first step is to start taking proper care of the teeth and gums. Here are the basics of tooth brushing, by the American Dental Association (ADA):
Brush your teeth twice a day. Take the time to do a thorough job (do not rush).
Use the appropriate equipment. Use a good toothpaste with a soft bristle brush. Electric and battery operated toothbrushes can reduce bacterial plaque and mild gum disease better than manual brushing.
Use the appropriate technique Hold the toothbrush at a slight angle – towards the area when the tooth meets the gum line. Brush the chewing surfaces, inside and outside the teeth and tongue.
Keep your equipment. Rinse properly and store the toothbrush upright until your next use. Do not cover the brush with anything, as this can stimulate the growth of bacteria.
Replace the brush. Replace the brush every 3-4 months, which is when the bristles fray.
Some people prefer to use more natural methods for some things of oral hygiene. For example, you can make your own mouthwash and toothpaste at home.

Ingredients: anise, peppermint oil, lemon, water.
In a glass of water, mix a few drops of each ingredient and rinse 4-5 times a day.
RECIPE 2 (PERFECT FOR THE SARRO)
Ingredients: 1/2 cup of rosemary, 1 cup of fresh mint, 2 cups of water.
Boil the water, add the mint and rosemary. Leave the mixture for about 15 minutes and drain. When the mixture is cold, rinse the mouth thoroughly.
RECIPE 3 (NATURAL TEETH PASTE, GOOD TO ELIMINATE THE TARTAR)
Ingredients: 7 tablespoons of coconut oil, 7 tablespoons of baking soda, essential oil (tea tree oil and clove essential oil is recommended), 1 1/2 tablespoons of Stevia.
A 2014 study discovered the following about essential oils: they efficiently inhibit plaque, can be used with dental implants and also inhibit certain strains of problematic bacteria. Unrelated (but for our benefit), the smell of lavender oil reduces anxiety and stress.
Mix all the ingredients until the paste has a consistent texture. Use this natural mixture every day instead of the normal toothpaste, if you wish.
Ingredient: coconut oil (that’s all!).
Dentists and other oral health professionals have praised coconut oil for its many benefits – fighting bacteria, cleaning mouths, preventing cavities and whitening teeth.
Put a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil and let the substance melt for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with coconut oil daily to improve and maintain oral health.
